What do you do?
We are a small, but very busy library in the heart of Budleigh Salterton. We have a lovely children’s room full of toys, dressing clothes and, of course, books but are quite a small building with no separate rooms for events to be held during our public opening hours. This means that apart from our weekly Bounce and Rhyme and our monthly Lego Club, we do need to hold events when we’re closed. When we move the central shelving units to the side, in our main room, we can create a good size space for author talks, craft events, health and wellbeing events and theatre groups to perform with seating for around 30 – 35 adults and 60 children, if they sit on the carpet! Would love to be able to collaborate with outside groups to extend the events and activities we can offer our local community. You can book the whole library on Tuesdays or on some Wednesday or Friday afternoons.
Who would you like to collaborate with?
Small theatre groups or performers, crafters, authors and poets. The Budleigh Literary Festival have used the library before for children’s events.
